THE HAND THAT OPENED PANDORA'S BOX




The pandemic with its imminent threat towards existence and survival is a fast receding echo of a nightmare that most would prefer to forget. Yet we are left with the lingering vestiges of those times in the form of Long COVID.

In my new book, The Reaper's Dance: 1000 Days of COVID, I explain the evidence that strongly pointed to the possibility of the pandemic origin being the result of a lab leak from the Wuhan Institute of Virology as a result of a lapse in biosafety/biosecurity protocols in a lab that was working with chimeric engineered Bat Coronaviruses with capabilities for infecting mice carrying the human ACE2 receptor.

Since my analysis in Jan-Feb 2023, multiple agencies have now come out with a series of tangential observations and restrictive policy decisions aimed at severely curtailing all work on Pathogens of Pandemic Potential except under multiple levels of regulatory oversight.

Today the Biden administration has suspended the Wuhan Institute of Virology's access to U.S. funding

opens in a new tab or windowand plans to do so permanently, according to an HHS memo obtained by Bloomberg News, due to the lab's refusal to offer up security and safety information amid investigations into the origins of COVID-19. Last month on June 20, 2023, the Wall Street Journal released the name and photograph of one of 3 Wuhan Institute of Virology scientists who had been hospitalized with a serious respiratory illness in late October/early November 2019. This episode predates the first reported COVID case on Dec 18, 2019, by the Chinese government by nearly a month. The Wall Street Journal published their original account of a potentially secret "Case Zero: of these 3 Wuhan Insititute of Virology scientists on May 23, 2021 and their findings were included in my analysis in my book in Feb 2023. 

1.13 million Americans have perished in this crisis. Countless children have been orphaned. Hundreds of thousands continue to languish under the weight of lingering Long COVID.

We have a moral obligation to understand how this catastrophe was caused. Let us never forget that.
